This project was developed for my Technology II course, focusing on creating a public-use waste bin through sustainable materials and efficient manufacturing processes. The goal was to design a durable and resistant product, incorporating recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE) from collected bottle caps, reinforcing the importance of circular economy principles in design.

From a technical perspective, the bin was produced using rotomolding, ensuring uniform material distribution and strength. The lid was thermoformed from 2mm polycarbonate, designed with specific openings for easy disposal. A steel anchor system was implemented to securely attach the bin to urban structures, using M12 Allen screws. Additionally, the interior container, also made from thermoformed HDPE, was designed for easy removal and cleaning. Every aspect was carefully considered to balance cost, durability, and production feasibility.
