Project 10 — Mechanism · Technology · 2023

Vehicle

Human powered, upper body driven

A vehicle propelled entirely by the arms. The brief for Technology 4 was clear: design and build a mechanism that converts upper body movement into forward motion. No motors, no pedals, no legs. The result is a vehicle driven by a push/pull lever system that translates arm force into wheel rotation through a gear and chain mechanism. It was designed on paper, modeled in 3D, and then built and tested at full scale.

Designed on paper, built in steel.

Every dimension, gear ratio, and mounting point was defined in technical drawings before any material was cut. The drawings covered the full assembly, the lever mechanism, and the transmission system.
