Project 02 — Thesis · 2024

Ache

A bedside lamp that's also the bedside table.
Two functions. One object.

My thesis project.A piece designed to merge two functions through obsessive attention to detail. The body is built from reclaimed leather. The shade is thermoformed in one continuous surface. Both decisions made for the same reason: to keep the object honest about what it's made of.

— Material in detail

Vacavaliente.

Reclaimed leather, cut and stitched in Buenos Aires. Each strip on the back of the lamp was hand-finished. The material isn't decorative, it's structural: it holds the body in place and absorbs the weight of the shade above.

The cable channel runs along the back leg.

Hidden by design, accessible when needed. The kind of decision that's invisible if it works and obvious when it doesn't.
